International Recognition for GEZKI research at the CIRIEC Congress in Bordeaux

At the CIRIEC International Congress held in Bordeaux, the paper presented by Aitor Bengoetxea, Enekoitz Etxezarreta, Irune Suberbiola, Jon Morandeira and Mirene Begiristain, in collaboration with Xabier Itçaina and Maxime Kieffer from the Centre Émile Durkheim, received an award.

The work received the Ana María O'Neil Award, presented by the UNTFSSE (United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy). The collaboration is part of the EkoSozilab LTC Incubator project, and the paper is entitled: ‘Community-based cooperatives: a natural connection? Lessons for the articulation between cooperatives and the community through the analysis of cases and their governance in Mexico and the Basque Country’.

This research is the result of the collaboration initiated within the framework of the LTC Sarea Incubator EkosoziLab, coordinated by Gezki, which seeks to promote cooperation between the institute and the Centre Émile Durkheim in Bordeaux. This recognition highlights the quality and collaborative nature of the research carried out by Gezki and reinforces its contribution to international debates on the social and solidarity economy.

The teams took advantage of the event to organize a meeting to measure the progress made during the first year of the project, assess the advances achieved and plan the next steps to consolidate what has been done so far and move towards joint research results, such as academic articles and monographs in international journals.
